Photos - 2002 - Around town

Carp "kites" to celebrate Children's Day (May 5th).

Here is the mountain I like to climb. The first peak in the centre is
quick -- 15 minutes -- the second peak (just off the picture) takes
about 45 minutes. The rollerslide is at the bottom of this hill.

Izushi town. If you zoom in, you'll see an "old people
crossing" sign.

Maeva and Melanie showing off one of the many modes of transportation here.

A porn vending machine... I kid you not! This one, oddly, is located
in a field.

The "love van" (AKA the Astroboy Van). Kids with too much
money drive these "love vans" -- the only place they get privacy.

Takeda castle.

A crane.

My apartment: the modern, grey 2 storey one. My apartment is the top
left, and the silver car is my new one. The river drops down right
behind the apartment.

O harami: cherry blossom viewing festival in Himeji.

The mukade story: these are the students who followed me to the top.

Ikuno: cherry blossoms at sunset.

Entering Shinmachi.

The most beautiful cherry tree in Ikuno.

If you ever need to buy something, go here!

Ken and Melanie beating the winter blahs with an Indiana Jones festival!

Futomaki = thick roll. This is a futofutomaki.

All-you-can-eat sushi... 'nuff said!

Maeva in Onsen town. The hot springs are 98°C -- hot enough to
boil up a wee snack.

Drying laundry and futons.
